Your profile

Who this is for

From idea through build plan to launch. And beyond.

No technical co-founder

You need someone who understands product and tech and helps you with technical decisions — clearly, understandably and without jargon.

Idea ready, but no product yet

You want to test your idea in the real market fast and win first customers, instead of building on assumptions for months.

First version live, now iterating

Your MVP is running, but new features take too long. You want to keep building quickly and predictably, based on real usage data.

MVP basics

What an MVP really is

An MVP isn’t the cheapest version of your idea — it’s the smallest version with real customer value. The goal is to win your first customers. With it you gather real feedback and know in which direction to keep building.

01

First customers, not assumptions

Real customers show you whether your idea works and which features you should prioritize next.

02

Focus, not feature overload

Anything the core audience doesn’t strictly need stays out for now.

03

Measurable from day one

An MVP has to measure how it’s used and where users drop off.

04

A clean, scalable base

Start lean, but build it technically so you can scale cleanly if it succeeds.

My approach

How I plan and build your MVP

We start from your product vision, break it into clear work packages, and build the first version step by step.

01

Define the scope

Product specification

We clarify the problem and the audience and define what absolutely has to be in the MVP. At the end you have a clear spec: you know exactly what gets built in what order, and what is deliberately deferred.

02

Break effort into milestones

Transparent and open to discussion

I estimate the effort per building block and split the project into milestones. That makes cost, risk and priorities visible.

03

Deliver in short cycles

Regular check-ins

We build the product step by step. You always see where we stand and have a say in every decision.

04

Launch and next steps

Learn and refine

We take the MVP live, measure real usage, and then decide based on data how to develop the product further.

Case study

HeldYn — healthcare MVP

Workshop, 8 weeks of development, launch.

Freelance · MVP development

A healthcare platform

MVP scope defined in a workshop, then built in 8 weeks. Regular check-ins.

Design and UI deliberately high-quality, matching the brand.

The result was a booking platform, a separate website section with SEO content, a GDPR-compliant analytics solution, and simple onboarding for caregivers where a few steps still ran manually in the background.

MVP development · Growing platform

A healthcare platform

„No developer I know is as reliable as Alex or delivers this kind of quality. When he explains something, I understand it immediately — and I can always reach him when it really matters.“

What an MVP typically costs

The most honest answer: as small as possible. We cut your idea down to the smallest version that gives you real customer feedback — and plan the rest only once the first part is live. The ranges below are typical ballparks, not a price tag.

Compact (approx. €10,000 to €25,000)

A clear use case, few integrations, web-first. Some internal steps still run manually to stay flexible.

Standard case

Solid (approx. €25,000 to €50,000)

Several core features with user management, roles/permissions, subscriptions or payments, APIs, reporting and notifications.

Complex (from €50,000)

Multiple user groups, demanding data models, complex integrations, compliance and high quality requirements.

You don’t need a whole MVP, just a clearly scoped tool — a calculator, a configurator, the prototype of a core idea? Thanks to modern AI tools, that’s often doable in days rather than weeks (from approx. €1,000–5,000). Drop me a line about what you need.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is an MVP?

The smallest version of your product that your core audience can really use. With it you win your first customers and gather feedback to develop the product further.

How long does it take to build an MVP?

Many web MVPs are done in a few weeks to a few months. The biggest time blocks are often gathering feedback from the target audience and the technical implementation.

Which technologies do you use?

The stack depends on the product and the team. I rely on proven standard tools that fit the project. Web-first keeps development and maintenance lean.

Do you only work in Vienna?

I’m available on-site around Vienna and work fully remote with teams worldwide.

What happens after the MVP?

After launch you decide based on real usage data: expand, simplify or rework. The handover is set up so you can keep working independently.

How is the finished software operated?

You own all the source code. On your behalf I set up the entire hosting infrastructure with a provider of your choice. After go-live I hand that infrastructure over to a developer of your choice, or take on operation and maintenance myself.
